Sunset Balloon Flights

We will meet together at a designated spot on the north side of Indianapolis, and you and your guests will join in our vehicle. We will drive you to one of 40 different launch sides we have throughout the north side of Indianapolis based on the wind direction and speed on the day of your flight. We design each flight for great views. If there are any special locations you would like to fly over, please do let us know at the time of booking. When we arrive at the launch site, our team will work to set up the hot air balloon system. This is a great time to take photos, explore, or jump in and be part of the setup process! As the balloon comes to life, we will take photos and show you how everything works. After the balloon is inflated and floating on the ground, we will welcome you to the basket and take flight! Throughout the flight, we will experience different altitudes together and gorgeous scenery. After landing softly back to earth, our team will deflate and pack up the ballon, and we will celebrate together with a brief story on the history of ballooning as the oldest form of aviation (It’s fun and full of laughs) and travel back to our meeting site until our next flight together!

Because of this, all of our flights include an all-inclusive and comprehensive experience.  We do not charge for any extras, and include plenty of photos and videos of your specific flight from the ground and the air, as well as a flight certificate and complementary champagne toast (or non-alcoholic), a tradition in ballooning!  We also include a special 3-D mapping recap video of the flight that includes your flight path, map, and photos and videos stitched in along the way for each guest!

What’s Included:
You can expect a 3-4 hour total experience from the time we say hello until we wave goodbye from our outstanding flight together. Whether you are with us to fly, volunteer, or just watch the fun, we look forward to welcoming you to the team!

Weather Expectations and Notes:
Hot Air Ballooning is an amazing adventure that we are proud to share, however it is a calm weather activity. As such, weather conditions may unfortunately cause flights to be canceled or rescheduled. Please keep that possibility in mind when planning your adventure with us. It is important to understand that it is not uncommon to need to reschedule 3-4 times before a flight occurs in our area.  If you cannot reschedule, or if this is a time-critical event (Such as an engagement with family in town, you are traveling to us from out-of-town, etc.) we recommend you have a back-up activity planned just in case of bad weather.  We never want to be the bearer of bad news, however all flight decisions are made in the best interest of the safety of our passengers, pilots, and crew. This means that sometimes we simply cannot fly on your preferred date.

Weather cancellations can be rescheduled at your convenience via the email link that will be sent to you. We promise to allow you to reschedule you as many times as necessary until your flight is completed, or provide an immediate full refund of your deposit if you choose not to reschedule. We simply ask that you try not to be upset if we inform you it is not safe on the day of your flight, as we can’t control the weather, and we promise that we want to get you up in the air as soon as possible!

PLEASE REMEMBER: Rebooking is the expectation, not the exception. It is not uncommon to have to rebook several times before we are able to accomplish your flight – it is simply part of hot air ballooning in the midwest. The pilot has the right to cancel the flight for safety reasons at any time, including up to the time of flight if conditions change.

Weather conditions that will generally cause cancellation:

• Moderate to high winds (8+ mph on the ground)
• Rain or thunderstorms within 100 miles
• Low clouds or low visibility
• Temperatures over 90 degrees during the flight
• We will reach out and let you know EITHER WAY if your flight is proceeding as planned or if it needs to be rescheduled about 24 hours in advance. However, please understand that balloon flights occasionally have a last minute cancellation due to changing weather. We will keep you informed as soon as possible, and as soon as we know of any weather changes. Thanks so much for your understanding!
